VideoFold builds films of software products from the live product. That is the whole business, and it needs very little of your data to run. This page says what we collect, what happens to it, and how to get it back or get it deleted. It is short because there is not much to tell.

What we collect

The forms on videofold.com collect two things.

  • A product URL

  • An email address

That is the list. No phone field, no company field, no budget field.

When we build a teaser, we capture your public site: page screenshots, section and component plates, your logo files, your palette, and your type files. All of it comes from pages you have already published.

If you write to us, we have your message and the address you sent it from.

If we wrote to you first, we had your name, your brand, and a work email address from public sources or a business contact database.

If you become a client, we hold what the work needs. Your brand assets, your published product and pricing pages, a demo login if you gave us one, the sources behind the line sheet, and the invoices.

How we use it

  • To read your product pages and capture your live UI, so the film we build is of your product

  • To send you the teaser, the film, or the reply you asked for

  • To trace every line on screen back to something you published, which is what the line sheet is

  • To send you email about VideoFold. Every one carries an unsubscribe link and one click is enough

  • To invoice and keep the records a business has to keep

We use it for the thing you came for. Nothing gets quietly repurposed.

What does not happen

  • We do not sell personal data. There is no arrangement under which anyone pays us for it

  • We do not run advertising retargeting on visitors to this site. Coming here does not put you in an audience and does not follow you around the internet

  • We do not share your email with other advertisers or list brokers

  • We do not train models on your data. Your site capture and your brand files are used to build your film and nothing else

  • We do not publish your film, your brand, or your demo account in work samples without asking you first

Your teaser, and what happens to the capture

A teaser is built from a capture of your public site. Nothing is taken from behind a login unless you hand us a demo account.

Here is the path a capture takes.

  • A browser we control loads your public pages and records screenshots, section plates, and short clips of your own UI

  • A brand data service reads the same public pages and returns your logo vectors, your palette, and your type files

  • The teaser is rendered from those files, watermarked, and written to its own unlisted URL. Anyone who has the link can open it, so treat the link the way you would treat the file itself

  • We keep the capture while the work is live, so a revision does not need a second crawl

If you give us a demo login, give us one that holds no real customer data. We will not ask for a production account and we will not accept one.

Demo access

Some clients give us a demo login so the part worth showing can be captured. It is optional, and plenty of films never need one.

  • We only ever ask for a demo account, seeded with demo data

  • We never ask for and never accept a production account, an admin account, or anything holding real customer data

  • We never post, publish, or change anything inside your product

  • We do not export records, customer lists, or anything else out of a demo account

  • You can revoke the login yourself at any time, and we ask you to revoke it at the end of the work

What we keep from that access is the frames we captured with it. Those frames go in your film and nowhere else.

Third parties who touch your data

VideoFold is a one-person business. Everyone else who touches your data is on this list.

  • Framer hosts videofold.com and provides the built-in site analytics

  • A hosting provider serves private teaser links and stores the films behind them

  • An email platform sends and stores the email we send you, including opens and clicks

  • A brand data service reads your public pages and returns your logo vectors, palette, and type files

  • A music library licenses the track the beat grid is cut to. No speech service is involved, because no Hero Film has a voice-over

  • Cloud storage holds client brand assets, captures, and working files

  • A business contact database supplies work email addresses when we reach out first

  • A payment processor handles client invoices. Card details go to the processor. We never see them and we never store them

Each one sees only what it needs to do its job.

Cookies and analytics

The site runs on Framer, which sets the cookies it needs to serve pages and uses its own built-in analytics.

That analytics tells us how many people visited, which pages they read, and roughly where the visit came from. It is a count of visits. We cannot tell who you are from it.

There is no advertising pixel and no retargeting tag on videofold.com. Nothing here builds an audience out of you.

How long we keep things

  • Form submissions, your product URL and email: kept while we are in touch, then for 24 months after our last contact

  • Site captures and brand files: kept while the work is live, then deleted within 90 days of the last delivery

  • Private teaser links: live for 12 months, then removed. Sooner on request

  • Email records: kept while you are subscribed. Unsubscribe and we stop sending, and we delete the record if you ask

  • Client files, including brand assets, line sheets, and the delivered masters: kept for 24 months after the engagement ends

  • Invoices and tax records: kept for as long as the law requires

Ask us to delete something sooner and we will, unless we are legally required to hold it.

Your rights, and how to use them

You can ask us to do any of the following.

  • Send you a copy of what we hold about you

  • Correct anything that is wrong

  • Delete what we hold, including a private teaser and the capture behind it

  • Stop sending you email

  • Tell you who we shared something with

To use any of them, email info@videofold.com from the address you gave us, or name the address you used. Say in plain words what you want. There is no form and no account to log into.

We answer within 30 days. If we cannot do what you asked, we tell you why.

If you are in the UK, the EU, California, or another place with a privacy law, these rights are yours by law. We give them to everyone regardless. We do not sell personal data, so there is no sale to opt out of.

Children

VideoFold sells to businesses and this site is meant for adults doing their job. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 16.

If you believe a child sent us something, email info@videofold.com and we will delete it.

Changes to this page

When what we do changes, this page changes and the date at the top moves with it.

If a change affects people who already sent us a URL, an email, or a demo login, we flag it here for 30 days.
